The Pause

Grace glides in at the edge of day
On gilded rays
To sprinkle sleepy blue
With light

As deep-lashed night
Absorbs the rising sun
Waking blinking morn
With spectral hues

Mercy in the pause
Forgiveness in the still
As all creation

Waits

Held in this pause
This still Saturday silence

Between Friday’s awful death
And Sunday’s indescribable

RESURRECTION JOY!

Waters of Compassion

We love because He first loved us. ~ 1 John 4:19

Forgiveness does not change the past,
but it does enlarge the future. ~ Paul Boese

Forgiveness breathes spring to the soul,
Pride and self-protection melting into compassion,
A tender pool of healing.
